SYNODIC CBM | IN DEVELOPMENT

Bringing Hospital-Level Cardiac Monitoring Home

Synodic Medical is developing the Synodic CBM, a continuous cardiac troponin biosensor so clinicians can catch myocardial injury sooner and act faster — beginning with the high-risk window after a heart attack.

CHALLENGE

Troponin is the gold standard biomarker for measuring heart attacks. But monitoring stops at discharge.

Cardiac injury can develop between clinical visits. Synodic CBM is designed to provide a continuous view of cardiac troponin I (cTnI), with the potential to reveal changes between clinical assessments, encouraging earlier intervention in the case of a secondary myocardial infarction.

Continuous cTnI

TECHNOLOGY

From biomarker to clinical insight.

Synodic CBM is a minimally invasive wearable platform in development. It is designed to access interstitial fluid through microneedles, continuously measure cTnI and translate molecular signals into information for clinical review.

Wearable biosensor technology

A discreet, low-profile device being designed for continuous monitoring.

Microneedle Sensing

Microneedles detect cTnI via interstitial fluid, removing the need for episodic blood draw.

Cardiac Troponin I

Designed to measure cTnI, an established biomarker of myocardial injury.

Rate of change

A proprietary rate-of-change algorithm enabling clinicians to have a greater view of patient health.

EVIDENCE AND DEVELOPMENT

Current pathway

01

Feasibility testing

Bench testing has demonstrated sensor response to cTnI under controlled laboratory conditions.

02

Validation Underway

We are advancing analytical validation of the Synodic CBM in simulated interstitial fluid.

03

Clinical Pathway

We are working towards first-in-human feasibility studies, initially focused on the period following myocardial infarction.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Partners

Our mission is to bring continuous, wearable cardiac monitoring into everyday care, starting with the high-risk window after a heart attack, and we're looking for clinicians, health systems, and researchers to help build that future with us.

TIME AND DATA IN SYNC

A greater view to earlier intervention

Our first intended application is the 90-day post-discharge period following myocardial infarction, where continuous troponin I data could provide clinicians with greater visibility between scheduled assessments.

Longer term, we envision a platform that advances continuous biomarker monitoring across a broader range of cardiovascular applications.
